These organizations are great places to network, launch pilot projects, and drive results—skills that will serve you well across your career journey. Depending on your areas of interest, Phoenix boasts a variety of organizations to choose from.

Young Nonprofit Professionals Network

YNPN Phoenix is a network of diverse thought leaders dedicated to creating a thriving, resilient, and inclusive nonprofit sector in Phoenix. Membership provides access to a community of emerging leaders across the nonprofit sector through networking events, innovative programming, digital communications, and volunteer opportunities. By offering programs that help bolster and retain talent, we foster the leaders who will shape the future of Greater Phoenix.

Junior League of Phoenix

Junior League of Phoenix is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Association of Latino Professionals For America Phoenix

Established in 1972, ALPFA is the leading Latino professional organization focusing on developing Latino business leaders in the United States. In 2023, ALPFA Phoenix is focused on igniting its membership via professional, leadership and skills development; nurture and grow our corporate partner relationships by better understanding their needs and be the Latino conduit for advancement both personally and professionally.

Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals

Established in 2005, the Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals engage in a variety of educational, fundraising and networking activities with the goal to make Greater Phoenix a more equitable place for all citizens. YP represents the future of the Valley: diverse, highly educated and eager for opportunities to realize the American dream. Together, we're forging connections that will strengthen the future for all underrepresented individuals and families.

Valley Young Professionals

The Valley Young Professionals (VYP), a program of the Greater Phoenix Chamber (Chamber), is for up-and-coming young professionals in the Valley ages 25-39. The VYP program provides experiences for its members to build lasting relationships, engage in professional development opportunities and become change-makers in the community.

GET Phoenix Young Professionals

Started by the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce in 2006, GET Phoenix (Growing Emerging Talent) facilitates personal development and building business relationships with a focus on community. Through networking events, educational workshops, and activities benefiting local nonprofit organizations, you will get to know other like-minded young professionals invested in all aspects of their future.

UMOM Young Professional Board

UMOM’s Young Professionals Board is engaging and inspiring the next generation of UMOM supporters through service and social activities, community outreach, and fundraising. Together with UMOM, the YPB works to end family homelessness in Phoenix by restoring hope and rebuilding lives.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona Young Professionals Council

Founded by dedicated young professionals in the Valley who have a vested interest in shaping Arizona’s youth and building a stronger network of support for the agency. This diverse group of individuals, ages 18 to 40, volunteer their time to support BBBSAZ’s many initiatives in the community.

Sonoran Insiders

If traditional board service isn’t right for you, the Sonoran Insiders Ambassador Program is a unique and collaborative effort to raise awareness for local environmental, conservation, and outdoor recreation topics. Ambassadors amplify good stewardship and responsible outdoor recreation in the Sonoran Desert and landscapes across Arizona.

Young & Empowered Women

Founded in 2020 to provide professional development and networking opportunities to a diverse group of rising female leaders who are passionate about service, career advancement and empowering others. Leadership opportunities include serving as a member of the Executive Committee or Board of Directors.

Global Shapers Phoenix Hub

Global Shapers believes in a world where young people are central to solution building, policy-making and lasting change. The group works on projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals, shade for low-income communities, and beautifying Arizona hiking trails.

Scottsdale Rising Young Professionals

Scottsdale Rising Young Professionals is a program of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce designed to engage young professionals ages 23-39. SRYP holds events with alternating formats between exclusive business tours/influential speakers, community service, mentorship, and social networking.

While these organizations are designed with young professionals in mind, don’t let this list limit you. Organizations that cater to young professionals typically have lower barriers to entry and little to no fundraising commitments, but young professionals make excellent additions to any and all nonprofit boards.
